This off road electric concept vehicle’s design was based on a reptilian form. The Helios by Kim Gu-Han has a folding solar panel fan that deploys while the vehicle is at rest and resembles the Australian Frilled-neck lizard.
To increase the surface area of the photovoltaic panels, when not in motion the upper surface of the car transform into a large "fan" with four wings to store more energy or to serve as an energy station.
This transformable design was inspired by natural evolution - some animals have developed a stretchable skin to absorb more sunlight.
Kim Gu-Han graduated from the University of Dusiberg-Essen in Germany and won the 2008 Interior Motives Design Award for Best Use of Technology.

Doesn’t take much to realize how EPICALLY AWESOME that is.
One would pray for no wind ever of course…
Hello,
because I find no other possibilty of contacting the editors of this website, I am going to try it this way:
I work for the german newspaper stern.de, for the website to be precise. We are working on a foto gallery of futuristic vehicles and I think the two car concepts above (the solar vehicle and the off road electirc) fit this topic perfectly. So I´m asking if there is any chance we could use those two pictures or even more if you have for our gallery. Of course we would credit the person that took them, and we also would offer a link to your site under the pics. I would be very happy in case of a positive reply. You can contact me under the email adress i wrote down in the left field. Thanks a lot.
Best regards
