As an R8 fan, I was psyched to see that Audi has developed an all electric vehicle concept on the R8 frame. The Audi e-Tron matches beauty with performance with 4 electric motors, driving each wheel and providing Audi’s signature Quattro all-wheel-drive.
Powered by a liquid cooled Li-ion battery pack that account for a little less than 1/3 the cars weight, the e-Tron has an estimated range of about 154 miles.
It’s 313 hp may not blow your hair back but the 3,319 lb-ft of torque will. It should go 0-60 mph in about 4.1 seconds, a little more sluggish than the Tesla, but faster than the original R8.

But how much will it cost? I’m worried that these cars will be so unaffordable, and the infrastructure so lacking, that nobody will buy them and industry will develop a conventional notion that electric cars are a bad investment. What is being done behind the scenes to make sure this doesn’t happen?
