FOX Launches Sitcom with Eco-Friendly Main Character

Running Wilde is a new FOX comedy series featuring Keri Russell as Emmy Kadubic, a humanitarian living with an indigenous rain forest tribe under attack by a wealthy developer (played by Will Arnett). In the pilot, Kadubic makes a plea to spare the forest that they call home.

The show premieres on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 9:30 ET.

Will this eco-friendly character help to legitimize the environmental movement, or is just another way for FOX to poke fun at "treehuggers"?

I have a feeling (and really hope) it’s a good chance to show “treehuggers” in a new light. Rupert Murdoch is actually a supporter of green…it’s just that he’s also a business man and FOX “news” reporting the extreme right gets viewers and ratings…too bad, too. But hopefully this will change FOX’s rep a little. Thanks for the head’s up!
