Look Ma, no wires! A new player in the EV market reveals a sleek, efficient design for bike lovers.
At the 109th Canton fair in Guanzhou China earlier this month, Toronto-based Daymak Inc. introduced the first electric bike in the world to feature wireless brakes, a wireless throttle and wireless pedal assist system, and an integrated battery and motor design.
Dubbed the Shadow Ebike, the company boasts that in terms of evolution, this two-wheeled marvel is setup for upgrades that will allow it to interact with your iPhone, Blackberry or your Google Phone and computer in the future.
"Our wireless technology not only helps avoid the most common failures found in electric bicycles, but also makes the bicycle more aesthetically pleasing," said Ms. Yeg Baiocchi, Daymak Inc's President and CEO. "The Shadow Ebike, with its wireless integrated design, stands above the crowd in technology, style, and appeal. Apart from its superior technology, this product is 'green' and the continued rise in gas prices only adds to its appeal."
There are no brake cables, no gear cables and no electric wires from the motor, the batteries, the controller or throttle visible on the bicycle. It also required a custom fork to hold the special wheel because there were no conventional bicycle forks in the market place wide enough to accommodate it.
