Solar power might seem like a new and exciting form of renewable energy, but did you know that people first started harnessing the power of the sun way back in 1839?
While solar panels been refined over the years, the basic technology has remained the same. What's changed is that capturing solar energy is quickly becoming cost competitive with conventional energy. Leaving the coal, nuclear, and natural gas industries (not to mention the government) without an excuse to stand on.
